Reunion In Hanoi

Hanoi can be truly the city of festivals. Once you are in the city you will learn that here, there is always some or the other reason to celebrate. Moreover the locals in Hanoi believe in celebrating all the festivals whether a small or a really important with a real bang. Mostly the festivals that are celebrated in Hanoi are in away or other are attached with the religious faith and belief of the local people. Here you will find a festival for start of a new year, start of harvesting time, also there are many festivals that are being celebrated to maintain the traditional and cultural richness. The most different feature of the Hanoi’s festival is that every festival has a story to be told. The dates of the festivals are decided according to the lunar month.

Festivals and events are those times in the city in the year when the locals are all set to enjoy themselves. Family reunion takes places as well as exchange of gifts takes place. The locals on the festivals day are dressed in their best dress. Also the shops are decorated with lots of lights and colorful festoons. Festivals are the time when the heaven, earth and ancestors are remembered and thanked.

It is an experience of once of its kind to be in Hanoi during festivals and events as the celebration atmosphere is spread all over the city. It is an experience to know the locals, their traditions, customs and culture. So if you get this golden opportunity of visiting the city during festival don’t lose it.

Tet is a Vietnamese New Year which is celebrated in January or February accordind to the lunar calendar. The celebration takes place all over the city.

Liberation Day comes in the month of April and is celebrated in the honor of the Liberation of Saigon which was liberated in year 1975. International Labour Day is two day celebration in the month of May.

Ho Chi Minh’s Birthday is celebrated in the month of May and is celebrated in the honor of the birthday of the former president. Many street parades are arranged across the city.

Falling in month of September the national day of Hanoi which is the day when the people of Vietnam celebrate the declaration of Independence in 1945. Many street parades are arranged across the city.

The mid-autumn festival which falls in the month of October is a grand celebration for childrens. Many street parades are arranged across the city, along the various dragon dances.

Christmas is celebrated in Hanoi by the small Christian community but these days it is seen as a party period by others. The celebration in the city is vast and everyone come together, to enjoy these auspicious days with each other.
