Isn’t it a good idea to do something different that normally others won’t? For example how would a biking tour appeal to you? Intrigued? Then let us see which some good bike tours in India are.

The Little Tibet Ride

This ride passing through Manali, Lahaul Spiti and Kinnaur is a wonderful experience. July to September is the ideal time to go on a bike tour to this part of India. It would take you around 21 days so be ready with that much time. You would start the bike tour at New Delhi, the historical city and the Indian capital. There are guides who would escort you to the hotel. After a short sightseeing experience and after this you would be taken to Manali, the pristine hill station near Delhi.

The biking tour has various legs. The first one is from Manali to Marhi and covers a distance of around 39km. The Rohtang pass lies around 15 km from Marhi. At an altitude of 3,980m this certainly is a good uphill terrain. The night at this place and the next day you would proceed to the Kunzam Pass another beautiful place at a height of 4,551m. The experience of biking uphill is something only bike lovers would understand. As you enter the end of the biking tour at Spiti Valley, you would get spiritual seeing the Buddhist monasteries here. All around the place is not with any dearth of scenic splendor. Then you would reach the highest point in the valley that is the Kibber village. Here lies the Ki Monastery which is around 1000 years old. The altitude here is 4,116m, and is a hub of monasteries. The Dankar and the Tabo monasteries are also here and the lovely feel of the River Sutlej flowing swiftly and gracefully along with the picturesque Sangla valley completely justifies your bike tour. Chitkul, is the last destination of the bike tour. From Chitkul you would be taken to Shimla which is also the British summer capital, and from here you would reach Chandigarh and then Delhi.

This bike tour from Manali to Ladakh is also normally done during the months of July to September. Again a duration of 21 days this takes to the highest pass in the entire world – the Khardung La Pass.  You would be exhilarated to complete this bike tour which starts at Manali. From Manali you would go to the Rohtang Pass. Then you go to the Baralachala Pass which is beautiful at a height of 4,892m. Then you would go to a greater height at 5,065m to the Lachalangla Pass. Then you reach Tanglangla Pass which is the highest pass in this line at a height of 5,360m. Then you would reach the pristine locale of Leh and then reach the Khardungla Pass At the height of 18,370 ft the fact that you are on the highest motorable region in India would make you feel proud of the bike tour.
