Nature is still alive in Rio de Janeiro in form of fascinating mountains, flourishing forests and alluring beaches. The city known for its diverse cultures and the Cariocas, as the locals are called, believes in living their lives with zeal and they describe their city as Cidade Maravilhosa – The Marvelous City.

Portuguese navigators have founded the city in 1502 and it is a port of Baía de Guanabara. One of the largest cities of Brazil, Rio de Janeiro is also its cultural and financial powerhouse. What else than its carnival, and samba can justify its cultural richness. The city that is populated around six millions is also one of the biggest metropolitan cities in South America.[1]Famous for its beaches namely Ipanema, and Copacabana, its significant viewpoints are Christ the Redeemer, huge statue of Christ and none other than Sugarloaf mountain that contains unique cable car. The locals love for game of football is verified from the existence of Maracanã stadium, one of the globe’s biggest stadiums, in its locality.

The tourists mainly head towards Zona Sul part of the city as many lively beaches are located here.  Its architecture contains structures from 16th century as well as the modern 2oth century. Season being very calm, you could be there any time of the year and if the temperature turns hot than the locals without even a second thought straightforward move towards the beaches.

Many manufacturing sectors’ involvement in production of building construction materials, pharmaceuticals, textiles, among all, gives it a chance of enjoying financial independency.

However, the city is not spared from the existence of favelas or shanty towns as several families are still trying hard to overcome poverty. Its mass mede of transporation are buses. Being the city of mountains, it is also renowned as favorite place for people interested in climbing rocks.
