The festival is celebrated in the memory of the end of the rule of Nguyen Dynasty. People come together and pray for good weather, happiness, the safety of their country as well as their crops. Celebrated all over South Vietnam the boat competition and thanks giving to the moon is a typical Khmer festival usually occurs in the month of October. Boat racing competition and offerings of fried rice are all part of the festival.
