Hampi Tours and Travel Attractions

Come to Hampi which is a treasure house of absolute pleasures and the greatest hub of beautiful tales from the past. Go back on time when you come to this land of attractions and get enchanted by the lovely sights, and the beautiful surroundings here and take back with you a memorable travel kitty.

Hampi is a lovely laid back village which was the last kingdom of Vijaynagar which was one of the greatest Hindu kingdoms. This has some of the most captivating ruins and is a land of boulder beauties. This is the main landscape here and the ruins dating back to the 14th century give the greatest travel delights. These ruins stretch across a land that spans an area of 25 kilometers and has more than 500 monuments. The Vittala temple is the most fascinating monument here and has the presiding deity as Lord Vishnu. The main hall has around 56 pillars and these make a musical sound when they are struck.

How to get to Hampi

The nearest railway head is Hospet, which is around half an hour away from this place. There are private buses that take you from Goa to Hampi and then you take an auto rickshaw to Hampi. These ruins are explored at leisure. Then there are those elephant stables which house the royal elephants and these are another major tourist attraction here.

Hampi is a place where you would love to come during the Hampi Festival. This festival also known as the Vijaya Utsav is held in the month of January every year. With lot of drama, dance, fireworks, and music and puppet shows which are showcased in the ruins of Hampi. It is a crowded place and has the best of Hampi to showcase.

Hampi is also a place  where there is another classical music festival called the Purandaradasa Aradhana which is held in the month of January and February each year to celebrate the birthday of the poet Purandaradasa. This is an important festival in Hampi and then of course you have the Virupaksha Car Festival which is the largest event here in Hampi. This actually is held to celebrate the marriage of the gods and the goddesses.

While you are here at Hampi you would  feel the energy here with the lovely sights of the sunset and sunrise, the view from the top of the central Matanga Hill is something to be seen to be believed. So come to this magical land of pleasure and religious experiences and get back with a lot more than you came with. Dont forget to take some comfortable footwear along, as you would need to really trek up the landscape here and enjoy the region to your maximum possible limit. You can also take a ferry along the River Anegondi. Explore the relics here and enjoy the night tours which provide you with the thrill and excitement that is so much a part of the travel experience here. Or else you could also take a bicycle here and then go around the entire region .November to February is the ideal time to visit this place and in the month of March the place starts getting very hot.

Hampi does not have very easy access to accommodation so you might have to find a place in Hospet. Get into this travel filled experience and come back with Hampi delights.
