Anniversary of Lima
January 18th is a day when Lima was founded about 400 years ago by Francisco Pizzaro, the Spanish Conqueror. The event is celebrated with much joy with a big parade in the city and many cultural activities also take place.
Carnival
It is celebrated in the month of February and many concerts are organized on this day and they enjoy the day by joyfully flinging water-filled balloons at each other.
Fiesta of the Grape Harvest and Wine Making
It takes place in March and it is celebrated in Surco, one of the districts of the city.
Celebrations of the Vintage
During the festival along with other celebrations, the beauty competition also takes place where the ‘Queen of the Vintage’ is chosen and these festivals are headed by the selected queen.
National Horse Tournament
The event takes place in the month of April and here you can also take a taste of Peruvian cuisine and also take a glimpse of their tradition.
Santa Rosa de Lima
Many ardent followers of Saint Lima participate in the parade that heads towards the saint’s hometown. The event takes place in the month of August.

The Independence Day Anniversary of Peru takes place on July 28 and 29 and you can be able to see grand celebrations in the form of cultural events, musical shows and parades by Schools and Military.
Señor de los Milagros
One of the leading processions of Latin America is organized in the city and the event takes place in the month of October and November.
