Exploring Montevideo

One of the largest cities of Uruguay and is said to be country’s cultural, economical as well as administrative powerhouse. The locals enjoy their nightlife with fun. The clubs and bars of the city are jam-packed with the locals and you can hear the tunes of Tango and Candombe music. The lively rivers, green gardens and attractive parks are giving you some of the best reasons to visit the city once. The city’s port takes care of nation’s maximum foreign trade and close by beaches are also favorite spot among the tourists visit there. The city’s calm climate will not create any problem in scheduling your holidays and you can tour the city any month of the year however, the months of January and February could be relatively war. The city is very prosperous as far as architectural heritage is concerned. The city provides friendly and secure atmosphere to its tourists and the roads are also excellent and you can easily walk around.

Montevideo cityThe city mainly follows three forms of music ie, murga, candombe and Tango and amongst all the forms, tango was invented in the surrounding localities of Montevideo.The chief port city of Uruguay, it embraces maximum part of population of the country into its fold. The town was originated in 1726 by Buenos Aires’s Spanish governor.

The city’s life was very much inspired by British from early 19th to the beginning of 20th century. Its cultural prosperity is proved from the fact that the city contains many museums, churches and theaters. During 19th and 20th century, major number of Spaniards and Italians migrated to the city and even today the major part of locals are from Italian and Spanish descent.

It is located in the South part of the country and it has got its widespread railway means during 1878 to 1911, set by railway companies owned by Britishers. The city that populated around 1,000,000 contains one of the huge fish industries. The city is very trendy and the living style has European influence.  It acts as Mercosur’s headquarter and many international cultural centers in the city provide it an international look.
