Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa, Bermuda

Posted on February 1, 2011 | Hotels3 Comments

Welcome to the Somerset cottage of four private beaches! Creating a sense of winding expansiveness for a pervasive ambiance of tranquility as well as cozy refinement, the Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa on the Bermuda peninsula is the old-fashioned cottage colony with a big list of return guests. Flanked by the wonderful bays as well as the ocean, this peaceful accommodation is the home of the famous European spa and four private beaches – the main beach, small Turtle Cove supported by a stylish infinity pool, and shimmering Long Bay Beach. The only cons of the Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa are that it is tucked far away from the island and that it is a bit expensive one.

Rooms

The Cambridge Beaches Resort houses 94 rooms including suites in pink-and-white cottages of one-to-two floors, all of which sprinkled on the west side of Bermuda. Some of these cottages are offered as one full unit of which one belongs to the late 17th century, while the rest are from the early 19th century that used to shelter the British Royal Naval Dockyard’s workers. Among all these cottages, three still hold their last residents’ names.

The different styles, locations, and sizes of the cottages as well as rooms have made them entered into the different price categories. The least expensive rooms lead the guests into the lawns and gardens while they offer the views of the wide ocean. If you were to ask me, then I would say to book for one of three pool suites featuring terraces with plunge pools from where the ocean views are perfect.

Restaurants

You have to choose at the Cambridge Beaches resort. In the Tamarisk Room that offers the soaking views of the Mangrove Bay, your meals take place under the soaring ceiling with pale-wood beams as well as amidst the pink walls. Alternatively, you can also decide to be on the terrace under the umbrellas and white canopy. Here, you can enjoy buffet/la carte breakfasts as well as four-course dinners with daily new specialties (do have its salad and dessert). Entertainment here is in form of live music in summers daily at night. For the dinner, the dress code has to be collared shirts or Bermuda shorts/trousers with long socks as well as closed-toed shoes. For the ladies, skirts or pants are only allowed (no jeans).

Lunch and casual dining is good at the poolside lounge – Shutters – along the multi-level infinity pool.
