Best Trekking Destinations in Karnataka

Karnataka in India is certainly the ideal place to be in and the best place to tour if you are an adventure enthusiast. With the beautiful locales that are best suited for trekking, there are innumerable trekking destinations in this part of the world contributing to maximum pleasures and greatest thrills. Kumara Parvatha

This is a very popular trekking zone in this part of the country and with the peak rising up to around 1712 m it is no surprise that trekkers come here and bask in the pleasures of memorable experiences.  The trek begins from the Subrahmanya temple here and the dense greenery only ensures you would get the best. Then after a stay at Bhattara mane the trek continues to the Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary and thus makes it a great experience.

Agumbe

This is a region that is also known as the Chirapunji of the South. With a plethora of flora and fauna, Agumbe lying around 380 km from the city of Bangalore provides ideal trekking pleasures. With the lovely species of birds and animals here, the Someshwara Wildlife sanctuary and the Kudremukh National Park form a main attraction here. Also be sure to see the sun setting at Arabian Sea in the sunset point here. Visitors throng Agumbe to see the waterfalls here and also to enjoy the beauty of the River VArahi, So get to see the Barkana falls of the River Seeta, and the Onake Abbi Falls as also the Jogigundi falls. Then there is the Gopikrishna temple and your trekking thirst is quenched.

Kudremukh

As the name suggests Kudremukh means the face of a horse. Located in the Chikmagalur district this is a trek that takes you from Samse and then you would reach Lobo Mane, and then Kaikamaba. This is a beautiful place located between Navoor and Belthangady. There is a great diversity of flora and fauna in Kudremukh and an absolutely fascinating wildlife too. See the Hanuman Gundi and then you would realize why Kudremukh is such an important trekking locale here.

Kurinjal

This is another beautiful trekking zone in Karnataka and is filled with the best touring pleasures. There are two routes one through the Bhagavathi forest check point and the other from .Mala village. As you climb the Gangadikal peak you would get to see the Kudremukh peaks and also see the Lankya Dam thus making a great the tour a great delight for the tourist. With a lot of forest and vegetated land, this is a lovely land to be in and is a great trekking locale.

Kodachadri

This is at a height of around 1343 m and is a great destination. Located in the district of Shimoga this is a lovely land filled with ideal pleasures. This is very famous as the golden glow of the Arabian Sea is seen here during sunset. This is the same peak which is also believed to have been made pure by Adishankaracharya who has meditated here and has been witness to the Sarvajna Peeth. The Mookambika temple, the Hidlumane waterfall and the Arasigundi falls are famous here.

This is different trek and as you start the trek on the railway track the difference seeps in. Get through the green route filled with best sights of forests and tunnels and see how the entire place seems to come alive.

Then there is Tadiyandamol, which is in Coorg and is a lovely land with the sights of the Bhagmandal, Nagara Hole and the Abbey falls. With the mountains and streams forming a great sight also see the Nalku Naadu Aramane which is an old palace.

Then there is Siddara Betta which is another lovely place and has the Siddeshwara temple here as an attraction. It also has many medicinal herbs.

Then there is Bananthimari Betta which is around 75 km from Bangalore and is called so because of the temple of Bananthimari which is at the foot of the peak. Bananathimari means mother nursing a baby. It is between the Kunthanahalli and Konanadoddi and is a lovely valley filled with the best hilly locales.

Then there is Kalavarahalli betta, which is also a completre trekking locale. Thus the various locales of Karnataka come to life in treks.
