Singapore is the most favorite travel destination of Southeast Asia also it is giving a tough competition to other popular travel destinations in the world. Tourism is thus the largest industry in Singapore. Every year around 9 million tourists visit the country.

Designed as the emblem for the Singapore Tourism board, Merlion was designed by Mr. Fraser Brunner. He was also a member of Van Kleef Aquarium. Merlion is a fish body having head of a lion and is seen as resting on the waves. The underwater world of Singaporelion head stands for the legendry discovery of Singapura. In olden times Singapore was known as Tamasek which means sea in Javanese language.

The main attraction of the underwater world of Singapore is the sea cow known as Dugong. Dugong entertains the visitors with its various interesting movements. You can interact with them by feeding them too. TO demonstrate the natural abilities of Dugong training sessions are also organized.

The night Safari in Singapore can be truly stated as the world’s best night zoo. You will surely come across huge surprises in the night during this exciting safari. Even in the night you can see eye-to-eye of a rhinoceros also hear the howls of hyenas. In the night zoo there are around 1200 animals and 110 exciting species which are to be watched.

Sentosa Island in the olden days was a small fishing village which was later changed in to the military base. For sentosa islandrecreation and everybody’s enjoyment Sentosa was transformed into an island resort. Sentosa island stand different from other all islands of the world due to the variety, peace, versatility and tranquility it has. The beach lovers will surely love this 3.2km long beach. Sentosa Island has Siloso, Tanjong and Palawan beaches connected together. You have various options available here to spend your time. You can try cycling, in-line skating, horse riding or just visit a beach pub.

East Coast Park which is located near the East Coast Parkway  is the one of the favorite play area for the locals. You can surely enjoy here by spending your time either cycling or playing volleyball. If you are new to the place just wear you sports shoes rent a bicycle or rollerblades and go out nd explore the city. In the East coast Park you will come across many fine dinning restaurants where you will get great seafood.

The location of Changi museum was changed and it was moved to its current location on 15 Feb 2001. The original building of the museum was the former Changi Prison Chapel.

Sir Stamford Raffles was the founder of this wonderful city called Singapore. The statue of Sir Stamford Raffles stands just outside the Victoria Theatre. The statue is made by Thomas Woolner and is made in dark bronze. It is believed that the place where the statue is erected is where Sir Stamford kept his first foot.
